View moreMany people have an overstuffed and unorganized wallet. If you find yourself digging through your wallet for a particular bill or for your credit card, you are probably one of them. Organizing a wallet takes some time to do, but it can save you lots of time and headaches down the road. Here's how to organize your wallet.
1 Remove everything from your wallet and separate into categories. You will likely have a category for money (bills and coins), credit and debit cards, store membership or discount cards, receipts, notes and photos.
2
Go through your categories of items. File or trash any receipts or notes that you no longer need to carry with you on a daily basis. Remove any expired or unused credit cards and file them away or destroy them. File any store cards that you don't use regularly, and pare down the number of photos you carry in your wallet to no more than three.
3 Organize your money. Stack all of your bills neatly in order of dollar value. Make sure that all of the bills face the same way. Place the stack of bills in the bill compartment in your wallet. If you have too many coins in your wallet, remove some of them. Coins make your wallet heavy and hard to keep organized.
4 Place items back into your wallet. Make sure that you place your ID card or driver's license in the clear slot for it in your wallet for easy access. Place the credit or debit card that you use most often in a spot for easy access as well. Make sure that everything in your wallet has a designated place. This will help you keep your wallet organized going forward.
5 Clean and organize your wallet weekly. Check for receipts, expired cards, coupons or old notes. Then repeat Steps 1 through 4.
