Making the origami wallet in different sizes can help you organize cash, credit cards, pictures or reference cards. The origami wallet is also very easy to fold, so if it wears out, you can simply make a new one. Women can use different colors of paper to match their wallets to their purses.
Lay a square piece of paper in front of you, with the colored side facing down. The size of paper you choose will determine how large your final wallet is. Paper that's 6 inches square works well for business cards, coupons, or small amounts of cash.
Fold the paper in half vertically, bringing the left edge to meet the right edge. Crease and unfold.
Fold the right edge in to lie along the center line you just created. Fold the left edge of the paper in to lie along the center line as well. Crease both folds well, then unfold them.
Fold the upper right corner of the paper down and in, so that what was the right side of the top edge of the paper lies along the right vertical crease you made in the previous step. Fold the upper left corner down and to the right so it lies evenly along the left vertical crease. Fold each of the bottom corners up so they too lie along their respective vertical creases.
Fold the right edge of the paper in to touch the center line again. Fold the left edge of the paper in to touch the center line as well. You'll be refolding the creases you previously made.
Flip the paper over. Keep the long edges of the model vertical.
Fold the top edge of the model down, a little more than halfway. If there were a horizontal center line, this edge would overlap it slightly.
Fold the bottom edge of the model up so that it just barely overlaps the edge you folded down in the previous step. You are creating two flaps, one upper and one lower.
Tuck the top right and left corners of the bottom flap inside the corners of the upper flap. This locks the wallet together and creates the pockets where you can tuck items.
Fold the wallet in half, bringing the left edge to touch the right edge, completing the project.
